Maeve Dunigan is a writer originally from Baltimore, MD, now living in Brooklyn, NY. Her debut satire and essay collection, Read This To Look Cool, is slated for publication summer of 2025 from Sourcebooks.

Maeve is a regular contributor to The New Yorker. Her work has also appeared in McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Reductress, Mountain Gazette, Mic, and on NPR’s Selected Shorts. Additionally, she’s a staff writer at Vox Media, where she covers pets and wildlife for The Dodo.

Maeve is half of the musical sketch duo Pigeon, and she regularly produces and co-hosts Pigeon Presents, a comedy variety show that’s been featured in TimeOut New York.  Maeve also co-hosts Some Fun Lines, a monthly open mic and quarterly show dedicated to prose humor.

She holds a Master’s in American journalism from New York University where she focused on the intersections of humor and media and a Bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Maryland where she focused on learning to shotgun beers.
